La Cañada High School recently hosted its holiday concert, “Sure On This Shining Night,” at the First United Methodist Church of Pasadena to usher in the festive season.
The show was led by conductor Jeff Brookey and Women’s Ensemble Assistant Conductor Amanda Svetich.
The large groups that performed included the 7/8 Honor Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Women’s and Men’s Ensemble, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. The concert also featured duets and quartets, which included Tyler Bond, Kei Hartzberg, Gabe Kronson, Mac Reese, Finn Silber, Hessi Strassburg, Eben Rodriguez, Sharani Bhattacharya, Maeve Rodriguez, Jaidon Gupta, Jack Reynolds and Henry Dearborn. Soloist Colette Park also took the stage, performing “Love at Christmas.”
Special guest instrumentalists included Brent Kuszyk, Ruth Kasckow, Jason Stone and Julia Wood, and student instrumentalists included Luke Bender, Alice Callahan, Rosalie Ahern, Aldan Dahya, William Dearborn, Pierce Lee, Sam White, Johanna Woo and Brendan Kuo.
