Palm Crest Elementary first graders recently enjoyed a Polar Express Day, an annual tradition that involves the children coming to school in their pajamas.
During the day, teachers read “The Polar Express” to their classes, and then they gave students a ticket to get on the train to watch the movie. Each student also received their own bell like Santa gave the little boy in the movie.
Other activities included mathematical graphing, writing about their senses, arts and crafts, as well as a lesson on how to make hot chocolate.
The first grade teachers who made Polar Express Day a success were Rachel Harter, Camilla Hartman, Katlynn Roberts and Jennifer Zine.
