LCF Tournament of Roses Association Seeks Float Design Ideas

The La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association invites the community to submit a float design idea for the 2025 LCFTRA Rose Parade float.
Participants can submit their ideas at lcftra.org by Friday, Jan. 19, by noon. Submissions must not be more than 200 characters. Entries longer than this word count, or entries that span submissions as continuations may not be fully read.
The winning design will be announced in spring. The individual who enters the winning design will receive two tickets to the 2025 Rose Parade.
LCFTRA said a compelling float design idea should:

  • Be simple and easy to understand (a viewer should “get it” in five seconds or less).
  • Be animated, with elements of whimsy, humor and surprise.
  • Reflect the Rose Parade theme.
“The 2025 theme celebrates all the special events that we celebrate in our lives along with everyone that our lives influence,” the association said.
Participants who join the fun might see their float design traveling down Colorado Boulevard on Jan. 1, 2025.
In the event the association receives multiple designs with a similar approach, LCFTRA will select one winner.
The contest winner will be determined by LCFTRA membership status, submission time/date, and which concept most closely resembles the final float design.
LCFTRA reserves the right to change designs based on organizational need, and all submitted ideas and developed designs are the property of LCFTRA.

First published in the January 18 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.
