Presbyterian Church Discusses Housing Solutions With ‘Faithful in L.A.’

As Christians, what does it mean to be faithful in L.A.?
La Cañada Presbyterian Church is presenting a four-part series that will explore housing, one of the thorniest set of challenges facing L.A. County, with leading experts who will cover a breadth of housing issues confronting La Cañada Flintridge and surrounding communities, as well as faith-based solutions that are being pursued.
The series is titled “Faithful in L.A.: Exploring the Issues and Solutions Around Housing,” and its speakers will bring front-line experience and knowledge of the complexities of the issues, including the roots and history of post-war housing in LA, as well as ways to participate in the solutions.
The remaining schedule of the series includes:

  • Wednesday, Jan 31 — “Exploring Access to Home Ownership,” Jasmin Shupper, founder of Greenline Housing Foundation
  • Wednesday, Feb 7 — “Exploring Housing Solutions as a Matter of Faith,” Jill Shook, co-founder of Making Housing and Community Happen
All programs are open to the public and will be held at La Cañada Presbyterian Church (626 Foothill Blvd.) in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday’s program will include an optional lunch. To register for the lunch or for more information, visit lacanadapc.org/registrations.
The presentations will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and the Q&A will be held from 7:15 pm. to 7:30 p.m., with an optional dinner beginning at 5:45 in Fellowship Hall at La Cañada Presbyterian Church. To register for the dinner, visit lacanadapc.org.
