Sheriff’s Crime Report

A residential burglary was reported occurring in the 1500 block of Descanso Drive between Jan. 4 at 12 a.m. and Jan. 9 at 11:59 p.m.
The residence’s gardener said he was at the residence and saw the side door open but felt that it was not unusual as their side door is regularly open. He told the deputy that he also heard water running from inside the residence. He walked over to the door to investigate and saw the glass had been shattered. He immediately contacted his client and reported his findings.
A deputy reported he walked down the south side of the entrance to the backyard and saw the glass window on the side door had been shattered and the door was wide open. He entered the residence and saw multiple drawers and cabinets had been pulled open in the kitchen. The alarm panel on the kitchen wall was removed and the wiring was exposed. He reported open closet doors and drawers with items scattered on the floor in the bedroom. Shelves in the bedroom walk-in closet were empty, and multiple items were also scattered on the floor. There were also empty jewelry boxes.
The deputy called the victim, who said she left on Jan. 4 and was set to return on Jan. 14. She has a Ring doorbell at her residence, but it did not record the incident. Her alarm was also set but did not appear to alert her. She said that she had a safe in the walk-in closet and the deputy was unable to locate it.

A burglary at a business occurred in the 2100 block of Foothill Boulevard on Jan. 17 between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the front glass door to the neighboring business shattered and that there was an approximate 30-inch-by-15-inch hole in the drywall that connected the two buildings. More deputies arrived on the scene and conducted a protective sweep for any possible suspects but were not able to locate any. The deputy did not see anything disturbed inside of the business. The deputy located several cameras on the exterior of the building and around the business.
