Boys’ Tennis: La Cañada Honors Seniors in League Win Over Temple City

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team posted a 12-6 Rio Hondo League victory over visiting Temple City on April 10.
The No. 1 doubles team of Cayden Chang and Blake Chang (6-0, 6-2, 6-4) and the No. 3 tandem of Spencer Moravec and Isaac Lai (6-0, 6-1, 6-3) each swept their opponents, while the No. 2 duo of Aaron Pan and David Lee won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-2. No. 1 Konan Sahara won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-4, while No. 2 Mathew Ma (6-2) and No. 3 Seth Lindenfeld (6-3) each won a set.
The Spartans (7-2 overall, 5-0 in league) will host South Pasadena for a league match on April 19 at 4 p.m. before hosting San Marino on April 22.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves picked up a 13-5 Prep League victory over visiting Providence High of Burbank on April 12.
The No. 1 doubles team of Ray Cabrera and Niko Christopoulos and the No. 2 tandem of Finley Shivaram and Logan Wu each posted a clean sweep with a trio of 6-0 victories. The No. 3 duo of Jacob Chow and Albert Shi also swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1. No. 1 Dilan Robbins and No. 2 Noah Mukherjee each combined for all four singles wins, as each won a pair of sets with identical 6-0 scores.

No. 1 Cabrera and No. 2 Jeremy Sieben each earned a clean sweep with a trio of 6-0 victories, while No. 3 Christopoulos also swept with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1. The No. 2 doubles team of Wu and Shivaram swept with scores of 6-1, 6-4 and 6-4, while the No. 3 tandem of Robbins and Mukherjee added a 6-3 victory.
Flintridge Prep posted an 11-7 league victory at Palos Verdes Chadwick on April 10.
No. 1 Sieben swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-3. No. 2 Cabrera won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-3, while No. 3 Wu added a 6-0 victory.
The No. 2 doubles team of Christopoulos and Shivaram swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, while the No. 3 tandem of Robbins and Chow won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 7-5.
The Wolves (12-1, 3-0) will visit Valley Christian High in Cerritos for a nonleague match on April 19 at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Pasadena Polytechnic on April 23. Flintridge Prep will then send individuals to compete in the Prep League Tournament at the Ernie Howlett Tennis Club in the Rolling Hills Estates on April 23 at 1 p.m.

St Francis High Schools No 3 doubles team of Owen Mann and Logan King not pictured won a pair of sets during a Mission League match against Chaminade High on April 9

The Golden Knights lost to visiting Chaminade High of West Hills in games, 9-9 (81-64), in a Mission League match on April 9.
The No. 1 doubles team of Lucas Silva and Rafael Enfiadjian (6-2, 6-3, 6-4) and the No. 2 tandem of Preston Kim and Arek Yacoubian (6-1, 6-2, 6-3) each swept. The No. 3 duo of Logan King and Owen Mann won a pair of sets with scores of 7-6(7-4) and 6-2), while No. 3 Armen Balikyan-Bekian won the lone singles set with a score of 6-4.
St. Francis lost to visiting Mark Keppel High of Alhambra 13-5 in a nonleague match on April 4.
No. 2 Balikyan-Bekian won a pair of sets with scores of 6-3 and 6-4, while No. 3 Nathan Huey added a 6-3 victory. The No. 2 doubles team of Christian Tchakmakjian and Kim won a pair of sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-4.
St. Francis (3-10, 2-4) will visit Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth for a league match on April 19 at 4 p.m. The Golden Knights will then send individuals to compete in the Mission League Tournament on April 22 and 23.
