The Minnesota Twins optioned La Cañada Flintridge native Nik Turley back to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings last week after three rough outings.
The left-hander, who has been in the minor leagues for 10 years, started at home against the Chicago White Sox last Thursday and surrendered five runs on six hits, including two home runs, in 2/3 of an inning.
Turley was coming off a tough game against the Cleveland Indians in which he allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings of work on June 16.
In three starts, Turley was 0-2 with an ERA of 16.39 and seven strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings. He bounced back with Rochester on Tuesday and allowed only two runs (one earned) and three hits in five frames.
