E-Waste Collection Event at LCHS on Jan. 6

The La Cañada High School Green Club and the LCHS Engineering and Robotics Clubs are sponsoring a Community E-Waste Collection Day to help save the environment from toxic waste.
From 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Jan. 6, LCHS will accept electronic waste items from the community at no charge, working with a specialized e-waste management company to have all of the discarded electronic waste processed for recycling. The public is invited to drop off electronic items at the LCHS parking lot by the south gym.
The items that will be accepted include computers, notebooks, laptops, monitors, projectors, printers, faxes, scanners, TVs, stereo equipment, VCRs, DVD players, cellphones, MP3 players, iPhones, tablets, digital cameras, video cameras, small household electric appliances, microwaves, toasters, vacuums, home phones and electric toys.
Basically, any device that plugs to the wall or battery operated. Not accepted: batteries or light bulbs.
Proceeds from the recycled electronics, which will be calculated based on the weight of all the items, will benefit clubs and educational programs at LCHS.
