March came in like a lion for the La Cañada High School choirs. The 7/8 Vocal Ensemble, 7/8 Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers recently debuted new material at the United Methodist Church in Pasadena. Director Jeff Brookey and accompanist Jenna Attias led the choirs in a showcase of traditional choral music from the Renaissance through the 21st century. Prominent composers Giovanni P. da Palestrina, Antonio Lotti and Sergei Rachmaninoff were featured. The program also included more contemporary works from American composers Dan Forrest, Rene Clausen, Frank Ticheli and Z. Randall Stroope.
