Cathay Bank’s annual charity golf tournament ended on a high note recently — with $118,000 raised for nine local nonprofit organizations. Since 1976, this event has been one of the highlights of the year, because it supports the bank’s focus of serving the community through hard work and heart.
“Our golf tournament is an excellent way for us to demonstrate the spirit of the bank,” said Vice Chairman Peter Wu. “We give back to the communities we serve because one of our greatest joys comes from helping people accomplish their goals.”
This year, the event proceeds will benefit nine beneficiaries: The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center, Cathay Bank Foundation, Friends of the Chinatown Library, Herald Family Center Counseling Ministry, International Institute of Los Angeles, Irvine Chinese School, No Limits for Deaf Children, Pacific Clinics, and the Taiwanese American Heritage Week.
