The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ golf team is off to an explosive start to the Rio Hondo League season, winning their first four matches.
The Spartans most recently defeated rival San Marino, 180-195, at Brookside Country Club March 29. Ian Ricci led the squad with a 34 and Nolan Kuszyk carded a 35 to place second.
Prior to the victory over the Titans, La Cañada cruised past Monrovia, 189-219, behind the performances of Logan Kim (who shot a 35) and Cameron Hart (36).
The Spartans defeated South Pasadena, 180-195, at Alhambra Golf Course for their first league win of the year and were led by Ricci (34) and Kuszyk (35). The team followed that up with a 205-254 victory over Gabrielino High and was led by Nick Tomlinson (35) and Andrew Shaklan (40).
