Presbyterian Church to Worship, Picnic in the Park

First published in the April 21 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will be taking church outside this Sunday, offering one worship service at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park, followed by a picnic.
The picnic will feature burgers, bratwursts and fun games for the whole family.
LCPC hopes to build on the enthusiasm of Easter by taking the celebration out of the church building as a visible sign of being open to the community at large.
At the worship service Interim Senior Pastor Gareth Icenogle will be preaching on the well-known Psalm 121 that begins with, “I lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come from?” Icenogle said. “People often misread that to think that our help comes from nature or people look to all sort of other things for help. But the Psalmist points out that our help comes from God. In the midst of our full and often-burdened lives, God invites us to look to him for our help and for our solace. That is good news worth celebrating!”
All are invited to La Cañada’s Memorial Park this Sunday, April 24, for the worship service at 10 a.m. and the picnic at 11:30 a.m. The event is free although donations will be taken to help defray costs. For more information, visit lacanadapc.org.
