Flintridge Prep Falls to Sage Hill in League Opener, 52-26

The Flintridge Prep varsity eight-man football team suffered its first loss after dropping the Prep League opener against visiting Sage Hill High of Newport Beach, 52-26, last Thursday.
Senior quarterback Jack Jones completed 11-of-14 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 10 yards on five carries. Senior Luca Yeghnazar rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on nine attempts, while freshman Owen Willingham made four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Junior quarterback Alex Chorba completed five passes for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Freshman Will Grable had four receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore John Battaglia made a 24-yard catch for a touchdown. Freshman Nathan Sanok rushed for 35 yards on nine carries and made a pair of receptions for 18 yards. Junior Noah Willingham and freshman Nico Chapman each made a catch for 6 and 4 yards, respectively, while senior Nnamdi Nwaenia had a 2-yard catch.
The Wolves (4-1 overall, 0-1 in league) will continue league action by hosting Windward High of Los Angeles (0-1 in league) on Friday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m.
