LCHS Falls to San Marino; Flintridge Prep Defeats FSHA

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ tennis team lost a Rio Hondo League match at perennial powerhouse San Marino 15-3 last Tuesday.
Tsehay Driscoll, LC’s No. 1 singles player, provided the Spartans’ scoring by sweeping her Titan opponents 7-6, 6-0, 6-0.
The Spartans (5-2 overall, 3-2 in league) will continue league action by hosting Temple City on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves won their second straight match after defeating host Pasadena Poly, 12-6, in a league contest last Thursday.
No. 2 singles Emily Hsiao (6-2, 6-0) and No. 3 Chloe Liao (6-0, 6-1) each won a pair of sets for Flintridge Prep. No. 1 Katharina Zirn won a set, 6-2, before rotating with Nicole Lee, who swept her lone set, 6-0. The No. 1 doubles team of Rachel DeMerit and Sophie Haddad (6-2, 6-0), and the No. 2 duo of Avery Hobey and Kayla Lee (6-2, 6-2) each won a pair of sets. Meanwhile, the No. 3 tandem of Sienna Beltz and Vanessa Hsu won a set, 6-1. Hsu was rotated with Miranda Thomson and the duo tallied a 6-0 win.
Flintridge Prep (8-4 overall, 6-2 in league) will visit de Toledo High in West Hills for a nonleague match on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 2:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs lost a Mission League match at Harvard-Westlake in Studio City, 17-1, last Thursday, as No. 1 singles Nathalie Genyk won the lone set, 6-3.
FSHA lost a nonleague match at Flintridge Prep, 17-1, last Wednesday, as the No. 1 doubles team of Meghan Garrity and Amelie Koch won a set, 6-1.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (2-10 overall, 1-6 in league) will open the first day of league prelims on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
