Let’s not hand any one waste hauler total control of service and fees for our entire community.
It’s a bad idea and it is unnecessary. Whether hauled by one company or three, we will need the same number to trucks driving around because the trash volume is not going to change.
The solution to improve the situation is to work with our immediate neighbors to choose one company for our immediate area, cul-de-sac, lane or dead-end streets and there are plenty of those in La Cañada.
My neighbors did this years ago with great results. We can reduce a significant source congestion without eliminating free enterprise. Let’s govern ourselves logically, without overly restrictive commercial policies.
