Presbyterian Church Offers Christmas Eve Services

First published in the Dec. 22 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will celebrate the good news of Christmas at three Christmas Eve services.
The service at 4 p.m., in the sanctuary, seeks to appeal to all ages with the singing of Christmas carols, including some led by the children’s choir, as well as a telling of the Christmas story by Children’s Ministry staff. Interim senior pastor, Gareth Icenogle will give a Christmas message at both the 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. services. The 7:30 p.m. Contemporary Worship service in the Worship Arts Center, led by LCPC’s Praise Band, will include Christmas carols in contemporary style and ending with candle lighting and the singing of Silent Night. At 10 p.m., the traditional worship service in the Sanctuary will feature LCPC’s Chancel Choir and organ, and Christmas carols sung in traditional style. It will also conclude with candle lighting and the singing of Silent Night. A pre-worship concert by the Chancel Choir and soloists begins at 9:30 p.m.
All services and the pre-worship concert will be presented in-person as well as streamed live online at live.lacanadapc.org. All are welcome to join in celebrating the miracle of Jesus Christ’s birth.
At the 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. services, those worshipping online are encouraged to have candles available to participate in the candle lighting and singing of “Silent Night” at the conclusion of the service.
LCPC will hold one worship service at 10:00am on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
