Spartans Defeat Powerhouse San Marino

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team stunned host San Marino after finishing in a 9-9 tie but stealing the Rio Hondo League match in games won, 72-66.
The Spartans pulled off the upset over league powerhouse San Marino behind No. 1 singles Lance Morgan, who spent his sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-3. No. 2 Konan Sahara (6-0, 6-2) and the No. 1 doubles team of Aaron Magtoto and Dylan Lu (6-0, 6-2) each won a pair of sets while the No. 2 tandem of Spencer Moravec and David Lee (6-0), and the No. 3 duo of Cayden and Blake Chang (6-4) each added one set win.
LCHS previously routed visiting Blair High of Pasadena, 17-1. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Spartans will host Temple City for a league match on Tuesday, April 11, at 4 p.m. before visiting South Pasadena on April 14.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves recently lost a nonleague match at Arcadia, 13-3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep will host Pasadena Poly for a Prep League matchup today at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Palos Verdes Chadwick on April 12.

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights lost to visiting Chaminade High of West Hills, 14-3, in a Mission League match on Monday. SFHS was previously shut out by visiting Loyola High of Los Angeles, 18-0, in a league matchup.
St. Francis will visit Harvard-Westlake in Studio City for a league match on Tuesday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m. before visiting Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth on April 20.
