Local athletes from La Cañada and St. Francis high schools competed at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational last weekend. The Spartans were represented by two teams and an individual runner while the Golden Knights were represented by a pair of athletes in individual competitions.
LA CAÑADA
Senior Grace Paton, junior Kaitlyn Creighton and sophomores Sarina Parks and Katie McGuinness placed third in the girls’ 4×100 relay with a 49.75 time, junior Brittany Rivas and freshmen Samantha Hosford, Halo Ball and Charlotte Hopkins finished sixth in the girls’ 4×800 relay with a 9:42.33 time, and junior Katelyn Matarese was seventh in the girls’ 800 meters.
ST. FRANCIS
Junior Luke Metcalf placed 11th in the boys’ 800 meters with a 1:56.84 time while Clint Geryak was 14th with a 14-01 in the boys’ pole vault.
