Jeffries, Jewell Lead Spartans Past Glendale

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team defeated visiting Glendale, 7-6, in overtime in a Goal Coast League game last Tuesday.
Junior Dylan Jeffries racked up four goals, one assist and one ground ball while senior Jake Jewell scored three goals with four ground balls and one assist. Sophomore Conor Roehmholdt registered four ground balls and one assist, junior Thomas Sorensen tallied two ground balls and one assist, and sophomore River Wokosin produced one assist and one ground ball. Sophomore Finn Valderhaug finished with one shot on target and one ground ball while sophomore Milo Reifsnyder-Smith had one shot on goal. Senior Kyle McKinney posted 14 saves and one ground ball while senior Andrew Moon won 11 face-offs. Junior Mac Reese collected four ground balls while junior Keshav Fernando produced three ground balls. Senior Jacob Butier, junior Graydon MacDonell, sophomore Spencer Turner, sophomore Kai Gundersen and sophomore Tristan Connolly each had two ground balls while sophomore Einstein Shin had one ground ball.
The Spartans previously lost a league game at Brentwood School in Los Angeles, 15-3. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
LCHS (4-12 overall, 2-8 in league) will host Heritage Christian High of Northridge for a league game on Tuesday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m. before visiting Viewpoint High in Calabasas for its regular-season finale on April 27.


ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights were edged in a nonleague game at San Juan Hills High in San Juan Capistrano, 13-12, in triple overtime on Saturday.
St. Francis recently lost a nonleague game at Crespi High in Encino, 15-10. The Golden Knights previously suffered a pair of nonleague losses against Servite High of Anaheim, 17-14, and Cathedral Catholic High of San Diego, 15-9. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Golden Knights (6-12 overall, 2-4 in league) concluded the regular season by competing in the Mission League tournament this week; the games ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
