The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team recently defeated visiting Temple City, 12-6, in a Rio Hondo League match.
No. 1 singles player Lance Morgan remained undefeated in league play after sweeping his Rams opponents with a trio of 6-0 victories. No. 2 Konan Sahara won a pair of sets, 6-0, 6-0, before alternating with Justin Son, who completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory. Meanwhile, No. 3 Rahul Gupta added a 6-4 set victory. LC’s No. 1 doubles team of Aaron Magtoto and Dylan Lu (6-0, 6-0) and the No. 2 tandem of Spencer Moravec and David Lee (6-4, 6-3) each won a pair of sets while the No. 3 duo of Blake and Cayden Chang added a 6-4 victory.
The Spartans previously picked up a 12-6 league victory at South Pasadena. No. 1 Morgan (6-0, 6-0, 6-0), No. 2 Sahara (6-1, 6-0, 6-0), and the No. 1 team of Magtoto and Lu (6-2, 6-2, 6-2) each swept their counterparts. The No. 2 tandem of Moravec and Lee won a pair of sets, 6-0, 6-4, while the No. 3 duo of Enzo and Eric Lee added a 6-4 victory.
First-place LCHS (9-0 in league) will conclude the regular season by hosting San Marino on Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m.
