Lutheran Church Adventures to Knotts Berry Farm

A day of fun at Knott’s Berry Farm is in the works for youth who attend Lutheran Church in the Foothills.
The Youth Group, for children in grades 5 through high school, will head to Knott’s Berry Farm on Tuesday, Aug. 1. Attendees are asked to RSVP by contacting the church office.
LCIF is also gearing up for a special ceremony, the Service of Installation for Pastor Rick Hall.
Hall joined LCIF in June as the church’s new full-time pastor. The ceremony will take place during worship on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. and will include special guest, Bishop Brenda Bos of the Southwest California Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
LCIF is launching a four-week program this summer for anyone interested in learning more about the Bible. No prior knowledge is necessary to join. The Bible study, led by Hall, will be held on Sundays, from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., starting Monday, July 24.
LCIF’s Book Club returns on Friday, Aug. 21. The club will meet every third Monday of the month at 2 p.m. in the church’s conference room. The club will be reading “The Cooking Gene” by Michael Twitty. All are welcome.
Summer worship at LCIF continues to include programming for young children. Children’s Church is offered during 10 a.m. worship. Families should meet in the church’s sanctuary. After a message for the children from Hall, the kids head to the Youth Room for games, crafts and study.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
