Junior Women’s Club Seeks New Members

The La Cañada Junior Women’s Club, founded in 1969, is a nonprofit organization that supports women and children in need in the local and neighboring areas.
For more than 50 years, the Junior Women’s Club has been hosting events such as its Fall Shop Night and its monthly Meals on Heels program where members gather to create bag lunches for Union Station’s Homeless Services. With numerous social events throughout the year, club members find a way to celebrate one another while providing much needed emotional support. Other social events include Holiday Shop and Sip, Wine and Wigs party, Bingo de Mayo, Margarita Madness, preparing kits for refugees, hiking/walks, Halloween Party, Holiday Scarf Party and lots more. The club also has joint events with other local clubs such as the La Cañada Thursday Club, the Community Scholarship Foundation of La Cañada Flintridge and the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada.
The Juniors is a group where members become lifelong friends.
The organization’s board members include Rima Sirrieh, president; Hilary Petrizzo and Sarah Hill Lowe, vice presidents and provisional membership co-chairs; Rosie Castro, secretary; Jomjai Srisomburananont, treasurer; Gisela Galan, general membership chair; Carmela de Brouwer, philanthropy service and operations fundraising director; Susie Haleblian, community outreach director; Sarina Stogel, parliamentarian; and Brenda Gant, historian.
The club’s philanthropies are Mending Kids, Paradise Canyon PTA and Palm Crest PTA.
