St. Francis Sets Sights on Playoff Matchup

The St. Francis High School varsity football team fell to St. Paul High 37-32 in its regular-season finale in Santa Fe Springs on Oct. 27. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Despite the loss, St. Francis coach Dean Herrington and the varsity team earned a share of the Angelus League title with Loyola — the Golden Knights’ third consecutive league crown.
With six wins in their last seven games, the Golden Knights finished the season 8-2 overall (4-1) and will open the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs at San Juan Hills High in San Juan Capistrano (9-1) on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
If victorious, St. Francis would advance to the quarterfinals and meet either Citrus Valley High of Redlands (7-3) or Leuzinger High of Lawndale (6-4) on Nov. 10.

First published in the November 2 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.
