Verizon Armed Robbery Investigation Ongoing

An armed robbery occurred on Jan. 3 at the Verizon store in the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard that put an employee and customer in danger as one of the suspects pointed a black semi-automatic firearm at them.
The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the robbery after it received a call for service around 12:30 p.m.
The suspect with the firearm grabbed the employee by the hair and pulled her into the storage room as the other suspect ordered the customer into the storage room as well.
“The suspects obtained approximately 30 phones and then left the location,” Sgt. John Gilbert told the Outlook Valley Sun.
The robbery is still under investigation and anybody with information regarding the incident is encouraged to report it to the station.
During armed robberies, like the one on Jan. 3, the Sheriff’s Station encourages victims to comply with the suspect and let them take what they are seeking, instead of risking their lives.
“I would recommend not trying to stop them, because you never know if they are armed or not,” said Detective Sgt. Edward Retamoza with the CV Sheriff’s Station.
Retamoza added that the best thing that will help the deputies in catching the suspect and their vehicle is by providing a description, a car model and license plate number, and the direction in which suspects fled.
