Residents Have a Chance to Comment on Development

Last week’s Outlook Valley Sun newspaper included a public notice, page 25, for a “Special City Council Meeting” on Monday, May 1, at 9 a.m. to hear 600 Foothill LP appeal of the city’s March 1 Incompleteness Determination for the 600 Foothill Builder’s Remedy Project.
This proposed 118,936 square-foot project is a five-story mixed-use building with 80 residential units (with vesting for eventual conversion of the apartments into condos), 14 non-serviced hotel units, 7,791 square feet of ground floor office space and 194 subterranean parking spaces on a 1.29-acre lot with ingress and egress onto Woodleigh Lane near the Arco Station. Note: Only 16 of the 80 units are low-income units, the rest are fair market value.
If you are concerned about the size and congestion that will result from
this and future projects (note: the St. George’s Episcopal Church’s approximately 2.43-acre property at Foothill and Commonwealth is currently for sale) on our main Foothill Boulevard corridor, you may want to attend the meeting and speak or send your comments to the City Council.
