Police responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard on April 19 at about 11:50 a.m. After the first driver cut in front of a second driver traveling eastbound on the 210 freeway, the second driver allegedly threw a pocket knife at the other driver’s vehicle. The first driver then followed the second driver, and both drivers exited the 210 and headed northbound on Ocean View Boulevard. While the second driver was waiting to turn into a parking lot near the intersection of Ocean View Boulevard and Foothill Boulevard, the first driver approached the second driver with a metal pipe and hit his vehicle on the left side of the trunk and threw the pipe toward the rear window. The second driver then turned into the parking lot and the first driver followed again and approached the driver’s side with another metal pipe, hit the vehicle’s windows twice and yelled at him. The second driver stayed in the vehicle. The first driver eventually left, driving southbound on Ocean View Boulevard until he was out of view. The first driver was described as being about 25-30 years old, 5-foot-7, 160 pounds and wearing a red Angels baseball cap.

Catalytic Converter thefts occurred at the following locations and times:

  • 300 block of Santa Inez Way, between April 13 at 7 p.m. and April 14 at 11 a.m.
  • 400 block of Olivieta Place, between April 12 at 6 p.m. and April 13 at 4 a.m.
  • 5100 block of Redwillow Lane, between April 12 at 9:30 p.m. and April 13 at 10
    p.m.

    A man was suspected of taking a wallet out of a woman’s purse while shopping in the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard on April 14 at 1 p.m. The contents of the wallet included a driver’s license, cash, a gift card, Medicare card, insurance card, and credit and debit cards. The victim’s daughter sent her screenshots portraying purchasing activity from one of her cards. The shopper said she remembers the man was accompanied by another man, both of whom were described as being about 42 years old and wearing dark clothing.
