Move A Child Higher Founder Retires

Joy Rittenhouse, founder and director of Move A Child Higher, a riding program for disabled children, was honored during the MACH1 Horse Show on June 10 at the Flintridge Riding Club.
LCF Mayor Keith Eich presented Rittenhouse with a city proclamation acknowledging her for more than 30 years of dedication and achievement.
Although Rittenhouse is retiring, MACH 1 will continue to serve the local community under the direction of Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship. Ride On is one of the largest nonprofit therapeutic riding programs in the country, teaching adaptive horseback riding to children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.
