Sheriff’s Crime Report

A deputy responded to a residential burglary in the 400 block of Richmond Road on Jan. 10 at 7:37 p.m. A burglary alarm was activated within the garage of the residence and upon arrival, the deputy saw the garage door had been opened with multiple cabinet doors along the walls opened and ransacked. Upon entry into the residence, the bedrooms along the northwest side of the residence had been ransacked. In the master bedroom, the south facing double-paned glass door had been shattered. The victim was out of town during the time of the burglary and the deputy contacted him by phone. The victim said that he locked and left his home on Dec. 26.
On Jan. 10, the victim received a notification from his Ring camera. He looked at the footage and saw two unknown suspects wearing headlamps on their foreheads. The victim said he had CCTV security cameras located on the rear of his residence but did not know how to access the cameras. The deputy left a supplemental loss form inside the residence for the victim to fill out when he returns home.

A burglary occurred in the 200 block of Starlane Drive between Jan. 11 at 8 a.m. and Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. The victim locked and left his residence on Jan. 11 and on Jan. 13 he returned and saw the rear sliding glass door leading into the master bedroom smashed. One off-brand black gun safe, one black semi-automatic rifle, three unknown brands of 20 round rifle ammunition, and miscellaneous off-brand jewelry was stolen. The victim did not have any surveillance cameras around his property.

A grand theft occurred in the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard on Jan. 10 at 11:25 a.m. The informant said that three female suspects walked into the front entrance of the store and headed toward the children’s clothing section. While they were in the section, they grabbed clothing and walked past several open registers without making an attempt to pay. The first suspect was described as wearing a black sweater, light blue jeans and had red hair. The second suspect was wearing a green sweater and blue jeans. The third suspect was wearing a blue sweater and blue jeans. A customer came into the store after the suspects left and provided the informant with a license plate number to a 2018 Hyundai that the suspects entered.

A grand theft occurred in the 900 block of Town Center Drive on Jan. 11 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. While a deputy was at a suspicious person call for service, a woman flagged down the deputy and said that her wallet had been stolen. While she was shopping, she placed her purse in the shopping cart and when the victim went to the cashier to pay for her items, she reached into her purse and noticed that her wallet was stolen. Her wallet contained numerous credit cards, her driver’s license and money. While her purse was in the shopping cart, the victim said there were occasions where she stepped away from the cart to look at items in the store.

A forgery incident occurred in the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard between Feb. 16, 2023, at 12 a.m. and March 1, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. The victim went to the La Cañada Flintridge post office on Feb. 16 and dropped off a check to his tax preparer in the outgoing mailbox outside the post office. On Jan. 10, the victim was notified by his tax preparer that they did not receive the payment. The victim then logged into his online bank account profile and found that the check he wrote to his tax preparer was washed on March 1, 2023. The victim did not know anyone by the name and did not give anyone permission to cash his check.
