Don Benito Autumn Carnival Rolls In Nov. 6

First published in the Oct. 20 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The 12th annual Don Benito Autumn Carnival will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, from 12-4 p.m. The event is enjoyed by students, parents and supporters to celebrate Don Benito, which ranks among the top performing elementary schools in the Pasadena Unified School District.
As the signature fundraising event for the PTA, Autumn Carnival offers games, a rock wall, a petting zoo, a bouncy obstacle course, three live bands, food trucks, contests and a cornhole tournament that pits class against class. It’s an afternoon of great family fun all benefiting a wonderful cause: the school’s students.
Don Benito PTA provides support in the classroom and around the campus by ensuring the scope of education is expanded with field trips, assemblies, art and science docents in each class, grants for new technology, resource support for teachers, and complimentary community events for students.
To ensure that Autumn Carnival remains accessible to the greatest number of participants, sponsorships help offset the ever-rising cost of producing this large-scale event. “Our ticket prices are low, but the value is high,” a school spokesperson said. “Admission prices are all-inclusive so you don’t need to buy extra tickets at the event to do any of the activities or games.”
Don Benito Autumn Carnival admission is $15 per child (ages 5-17) and $5 per adult (18 and over). Children younger than 5 are free. Admission includes all activities, games, popcorn and cotton candy. (Food trucks are not included in admission price.) Admission may be purchased online or at the Valley View Avenue entrance on the day of the carnival.
